In the year 2023, Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Sophie Turner, who is known for her roles in Game of Thrones and X-Men. However, the pair quickly became embroiled in a custody dispute over their two young daughters, Willa and Delphine.

It has been five years since the Jonas Brothers singer Joe Jonas and his estranged wife Sophie Turner got married, and now the divorce between the two of them has been approved.

Additionally, a judge in the state of Florida named Gina Beovides approved a confidential settlement regarding the division of assets, spousal support, and custody of their two children, Willa, who is four years old, and Delphine, who is two years old.

The marriage between Jonas, who is 35 years old, and Turner, who is 28 years old and was born in the United Kingdom and is best known for her performances in X-Men and Game of Thrones, was categorised as “irretrievably broken” by her.

The judge stated that the couple’s agreement, particularly their parenting plan, was best for the welfare of the family during the process of finalizing the terms of the divorce.

The divorce, which was filed a year ago, resulted in a brief period of acrimony and appeared to be going towards a lengthy and unpleasant custody battle. The separation brings about a very speedy conclusion to the divorce.

After meeting each other on Instagram, the pair started dating in 2016, and in May of 2019, they tied the knot in a private ceremony that took place in a wedding chapel in Las Vegas.

In September 2023, Jonas submitted a petition for divorce. The following day, the couple posted messages on Instagram with the following text: “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to end our marriage amicably.”

One more thing that was included in the joint statement was the following: “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision.”

In the same month, court filings disclosed that Turner asserted that the dissolution of their marriage occurred “very suddenly” following an argument between the two of them.

She said that she found out about their breakup “through the media,” despite the fact that Jonas was quoted as saying that they had multiple chats about it.

Due to the fact that their girls were born in the United States but hold dual citizenship, the parents had initially been involved in a custody struggle over their daughters.

Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas in order to gain access to the girls’ passports so that they could accompany her to England. However, the custody battle was brought to an end in January, which indicated that the two were on the verge of reaching a settlement.

According to the records filed with the court, the couple also had a pre-nuptial agreement.

Over the course of eight seasons on HBO’s Game of Thrones, Turner played the role of Sansa. She later went on to play Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019). Turner is originally from Northampton.

Jonas, who was born in Arizona, rose to popularity alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin through their band, the Jonas Brothers, and also by participating in a reality television series.

The band achieved chart success in the United Kingdom with their single “Sucker,” which was released in 2019, as well as with their albums “Happiness Begins” and “The Album,” which were released in 2023.
