Beyonce made a rare political appearance, hugging Kamala Harris during a presidential campaign rally and urging Americans, “We need to sing a new song.”

Ms. Harris warned that her Republican opponent intends to further diminish women’s rights but did not perform like she did at a Hillary Clinton event in Cleveland in 2016.

“I’m neither a star nor am I a politician. “I’m here as a mother,” Beyonce told the audience in Houston, Texas.

“A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.”

“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings or limitations,” the American singer added. “We must vote, and we need you.”

Beyonce was joined on stage by her Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, who announced Democratic contender Kamala Harris as the “next president of the United States.”.

Houston is Beyonce’s hometown, and Ms. Harris’ presidential campaign has adopted the song Freedom, a single from her 2016 album Lemonade, as its anthem, initially adopting it in July.

Beyonce gave vice president Harris permission to use the song, which includes samples from two John and Alan Lomax recordings documenting America’s segregation past.

The event took place in Texas to highlight the mounting medical consequences of the state’s stringent abortion prohibition. Abortion is outlawed in almost all situations, with the exception of when the mother’s life is in jeopardy.

However, because the law is written ambiguously, hazardous pregnancies are not specifically mentioned as an exemption. As a result, the state’s newborn mortality rate has risen, more babies have died due to birth abnormalities, and maternal mortality has climbed.

Women who had almost passed away due to pregnancy issues joined Ms. Harris at the event. In other areas, doctors face criminal prosecution if they treat women in life-threatening situations.

“For anyone watching from another state, if you think you are protected from Trump abortion bans because you live in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New York, California, or any state where voters or legislators have protected reproductive freedom, please know: No one is protected,” Ms Harris stated in her statement.

“Because a Donald Trump national ban will outlaw abortion in every single state.”

The message that Mr. Trump has been sending regarding abortion and reproductive rights has been inconsistent, despite the fact that he has stated on multiple occasions that he would veto a national ban.

Additionally, he was in Texas on Friday, when he stated that if he were to win, he would set new records for the number of people who would be deported from the United States.
