After a 13-year-old boy was stabbed in Oldbury, West Midlands police have stated that a murder inquiry has been opened into the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to the police department, the ambulance service dispatched the officers to a property in Oldbury, which is located west of Birmingham, at approximately four o’clock on Thursday. Although paramedics were able to treat a youngster who had been found with stab wounds, the boy was unable to be rescued.

“It is absolutely tragic that a young life has been lost,” said Detective Sergeant Shaun Edwards, who is one of the members of the force’s homicide team. We have cops who are experts in their field who will be providing assistance to the boy’s family. There are detectives who are working tirelessly to identify the person or people responsible for this crime and get them into jail as quickly as possible.

On Friday morning, the police roped off a semi-detached house located on Lovett Avenue, and policemen were stationed outside to maintain security on the premises. Forensics officers were present at the scene.

Several bouquets of flowers were placed against the front door of the property as individuals left floral tributes outside the residence.

The Labour Member of Parliament for Smethwick, Gurinder Singh Josan, expressed his astonishment at the news of the tragic stabbing in a post that he made on.

“This is a tragic waste of a young life, and my thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the family and friends of the young boy,” he stated. “I apologise for the loss of your life.”

He expressed gratitude to the West Midlands ambulance service for their hard work in rescuing the kid and requested anyone who may have information to get in touch with the West Midlands police department through live chat or by calling 101 and citing log 3204 of August 29, 2024. He stated that the police department was working “to the fullest extent possible to bring whoever is responsible into custody as quickly as possible.”
