Adele received admiration from a fellow musical icon during her latest concert!
The 36-year-old singer of “Easy on Me” became upset after seeing Celine Dion in the audience at her residency event in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Adele was singing her song “When We Were Young” when she approached Dion, 56, who was sitting in a box to the side at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, according to a fan account on X.
Adele shed tears as the two embraced for a few seconds before saying a few things to Dion, who held Adele’s face in her hands. Dion then held and kissed Adele’s hand while the British singer waved at others nearby before delivering a few more words to Dion and returning to the stage.
Adele shed tears as she hugged Dion and walked away, as captured in a close-up photo released on X. Dion appeared to be very emotional in the video as she embraced and spoke with her fellow singing icon. In another film, Dion sat back down after her romantic moment with Adele and dabbed her own tears.
Nelson and Eddy Angélil, her 14-year-old sons, were with the singer of “My Heart Will Go On,” and they comforted her after an emotional encounter. Adele walked away from Dion and continued singing the song while dabbing her tearstained face, as seen in a clip released on X.
The powerhouse singers’ emotional meeting in Vegas was a full-circle event for the two, as Adele had seen Dion perform at the same theatre a few years before.
Adele paid Dion a backstage visit in January 2018, following her performance at the Colosseum during the “Power of Love” singer’s second Vegas engagement.
Dion expressed gratitude to Adele for attending one of her gigs in an Instagram post. I love her so much!!”
Adele, a fan of Celine, shared her experience on Instagram with the caption “Queen Celine!” What a show, the ultimate pinnacle of my life; thank you so much for your attention to your audience and wild sense of humour. “Happy New Year, Lady X.”
In addition to her comment, the “Hello” singer shared a photo of herself wearing a Dion T-shirt while attending a concert.
In a 2021 73 Questions video for Vogue, the British singer revealed her “proudest possession,” a framed piece of Dion’s gum.
“”It’s quite wonderful,” the singer tells the publication in the video. “James Corden, a friend of mine who also performs Carpool Karaoke, as I do, performed one with her. He knew how much I admired her, so he had her spit her gum on a piece of paper, which she framed for me.
Adele’s two-year Vegas residency will end in November.
While playing in Munich in September, the 16-time Grammy winner revealed that she intends to leave music for a “long time” once her residency ends.
Adele addressed supporters onstage in a TikTok video, “I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”
