AFCON qualifiers: Nigeria face Benin, Libya, Rwanda in Group D

Nigeria have been pooled in Group D of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, expected in Morocco and unveiled on Thursday in Johannesburg, South Africa.


The 2025 AFCON tournament will now be played from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 after the CAF decided to shift the timing of the competition to avoid the FIFA calendar, which is already congested now.
“It will be the first time in Nations Cup history that the tournament will kick off in December and run over the Christmas and New Year periods.

-Quality will gain the victories in addition to the runners-ups from a group of individuals, except the group in which Morocco is housed since they will enter the tournament only for match experience.
-Morocco will host the Cup of Nations between Dec 21 2025 and Jan 18 2026.
