Alix Earle has issued an apology for the racist comments she made on social media when she was only 13 years old.

The posts, which were published on the website ASKfm, were initially brought to light on Reddit two years ago; however, they have reemerged within the past few weeks after being shared on a variety of internet platforms by various individuals.

Since then, fans have begged Earle, who is 23 years old, to comment on the tweets that have been posted in the comment section of each of her TikToks. As a result, she has responded to the contentious messages by publishing a lengthy statement on her TikTok and Instagram Stories on Monday, August 26.

In the beginning of the message, the beauty and lifestyle influencer expressed regret for using the word “n—-.”

A few weeks ago, screenshots emerged from my previous ask.fm account, revealing my use of an offensive term back in the summer of 2014. I want to emphasise that I was only 13 years old at the time and did not fully grasp the highly offensive connotations associated with that word,” she expressed.

“Using that word in any context or at any age is unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances.” Earle continued, expressing his disagreement with the way I speak or what I stand for. “I sincerely apologise for the pain my words have caused and for any misconceptions they may have created about my character.” I assure you that is completely untrue.

Expressing sincere apologies to those she may have offended, she acknowledged her regret in how she handled the situation, admitting that she allowed others to dissuade her from speaking up for far too long.

“I wasn’t sure how to handle it and unfortunately the advice I received, although with good intentions, turned out to be incorrect. I take full responsibility for not asserting myself and trusting my instincts to voice my concerns immediately.

Earle, with a massive following of 7.1 million and an impressive 1 billion likes on TikTok, the platform where her “Get Ready with Me” (GRWM) videos propelled her to stardom, further clarified the speculation surrounding her alleged trademarking of old posts and the loss of a brand partnership.

“By not addressing this matter, my silence inadvertently gave others the opportunity to spread false rumours.” She dismissed the rumour as completely baseless and false, stating, “I never attempted to trademark my previous posts.” “Another unfortunate incident occurred when a brand unexpectedly ended our collaboration, despite the fact that we had never engaged in any discussions regarding a potential partnership.”

The social media influencer concluded her statement by stating, “Despite the online rumours, I felt it was important to address the truth and offer my sincere apology.”
