Bauchi State Revitalizes Tourism with Major Investments in Yankari Game Reserve

The Bauchi State government is set to rejuvenate its tourism sector, aiming to attract visitors globally. Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Abdul Hassan, shared these plans during a meeting with the state’s tourism ambassadors on Thursday.

 Key Developments in Bauchi State Tourism

Commissioner Hassan emphasized the state’s dedication to unlocking its vast tourism potential, highlighting ongoing projects such as the refurbishment of the iconic Yankari Game Reserve, which is now 50% complete. The installation of solar power aims to address the inconsistent national grid issues, ensuring a reliable energy supply for the reserve.

“These developments signal a new era for tourism in Bauchi State, poised to showcase its unique cultural heritage and natural wonders to the world,” Hassan stated.

 Role of Tourism Ambassadors

Hassan urged the tourism ambassadors to promote Bauchi State’s attractions, particularly the Yankari Game Reserve, to a global audience. He also commended the General Manager of Yankari Game Reserve, Muhammad Yusuf, for his visionary leadership and commitment to preserving and promoting the reserve’s natural beauty and cultural significance.

 Future Prospects for Yankari Game Reserve

Muhammad Yusuf, leading a delegation to the commissioner’s office, highlighted the crucial role of tourism ambassadors in supporting the smooth operation of Yankari Game Reserve and other attractions. He expressed optimism that the state government’s current interventions would make Yankari Game Reserve a significant revenue generator for Bauchi State.
