Judi Dench, John Cena, and Awkwafina are all going to contribute their voices to the artificial intelligence that Meta, the company that owns both Instagram and Facebook, is showcasing. Meta AI is going to be called Meta AI.
People will now have the ability to engage in conversation with Meta AI, the company’s chatbot that is similar to ChatGPT, and receive responses from celebrities. A modification was made to the Llama model, and this is part of that modification.
There is also the possibility of Keegan-Michael Key, who is a comedian, and Kristen Bell, who played Elsa in the film Frozen.
During the annual Connect conference, Mark Zuckerberg, who is the chief executive officer of Meta, also presented a set of smart glasses that are dubbed Orion. While describing them, he referred to them as “the most advanced glasses the world has ever seen.”
Additionally, he showcased the improvements that have been made to a pair of smart glasses that Meta has developed in collaboration with Ray-Ban. These spectacles are a product of the partnership between the two companies. The ability to do live translation will now be available for these glasses.
During the conversation that took place between Mr. Zuckerberg and the Mexican martial artist Brandon Moreno, who was wearing them, the conversation was translated in real time! The conversation started with Mr. Zuckerberg speaking in English, and Mr. Moreno started responding in Spanish.
Individuals have the capability to dub their videos in an alternative language, creating the illusion of native speech and even adjusting lip movements to achieve synchronisation.
“Our objective is to construct a future characterised by increased openness, enhanced accessibility, greater naturalness, and a stronger emphasis on human connection,” stated Mr. Zuckerberg.
“This represents the ongoing application of the principles and concepts that have been integrated into the applications and technologies developed throughout Meta’s initial two decades.”
An update in artificial intelligence enables influencers to create digital replicas of themselves for enhanced interaction with their audience.
According to the company, Meta AI has reached a user base of 500 million.
Jeremy Goldman, from the research firm Emarketer, described the figure as “jaw-dropping.”.
“Meta has evolved from a mere social media entity into a significant player in the AI sector,” he stated.
Mr. Zuckerberg’s transition to utilising celebrity voices serves a strategic purpose—it represents a calculated challenge to OpenAI, highlighting a focus on practical applications.
“Meta is strategically positioning itself to significantly lower the price point of Apple’s Vision Pro, aiming to capture a substantial share of the mid-tier AR/VR market.”
The VR goggles, released earlier this year following significant anticipation, are priced at $3,500 (£2,600).
