Prior to the band’s upcoming series of concerts in Dublin, lead vocalist Chris Martin created quite a buzz in the Irish capital. He delighted passersby on Grafton Street with an impromptu performance of a new song called “We Pray,” accompanied by all of its collaborators.
On the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 28, a group of talented artists came together for a surprise performance. Nigerian singer Burna Boy, English rapper Little Simz, Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna, and Argentine singer Tini joined forces with Martin, 47, to take to the streets and entertain the crowd. This collaboration comes after their track was released on Aug. 23, adding even more excitement to the mix.
In an exciting turn of events, the star-studded group took the stage with just a speaker and a few microphones. The crowd couldn’t contain their excitement as they filmed and cheered for each performance. Coldplay even shared footage of the incredible moment on their social media accounts.
“On my knees, I pray, as I sleep and wake. ‘Cause inside my head is a frightening place,” croons Burna Boy, a talented artist at the age of 33, in a captivating clip. “Maintain a cheerful demeanour, solely through this grace, because affection is overwhelming me.”
Additional footage captures the musicians in high spirits, joyfully dancing and singing in unison. The crowd eagerly gathers around them, with some even leaning out of windows to catch a glimpse of the performance.
In an Instagram post dedicated to a special rendition of “We Pray,” Coldplay described the evening at Grafton Street as a truly enchanting moment.

It was truly magical! Thank you to all the attendees and a special thanks to TikTok for their support in making this event possible.
Burna Boy couldn’t resist capturing the exciting moment, giving us a glimpse of the lively Grafton Street crowd on his Instagram Story. He also treated us to a heartwarming behind-the-scenes peek at the group just before their surprise appearance.
In the clip, Marin seems to be offering some words of encouragement to the artists as they gather in a circle before the show.
And with that, the Coldplay frontman concludes in the clip while a voice from off-camera exclaims, “You all are going to be incredible!”
The performance coincides with Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams Tour. Following their four electrifying performances at Dublin’s Croke Park, the band will finally have a well-deserved break of nearly two months. During this time, fans can eagerly anticipate the release of their highly anticipated upcoming album, Moon Music, set to drop on Oct. 4.
The group is all set to take their tour to Australia, with a series of exciting shows lined up in Melbourne and Sydney. The tour will conclude in Auckland, New Zealand, on Nov. 16.
