Italy coach Luciano Spalletti has said he takes full responsibilities for their elimination at the first knockout round at Euro 2024.
The Azzurris on Saturday faced a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland.
Spalletti, however, admitted that he has little time preparing the squad for the tournament.
“I have the responsibility,” the coach said during the post-match news conference.
“We failed because of my team selection; it is never down to the players.”
He also said he wished he had enough time to know the players.
Every other coach had 30, even more, matches with their teams before the tournament started, said Spalletti: “I only had 10.
