Early Rise

Hansi Flick believes the €90 million Barcelona jewel is the “most important addition” for the upcoming campaign.

The past season FC Barcelona spent months without one of their most key players—Gavi. His absence did matter a lot.
The 19-year-old La Masia gem suffered a rupture to the ACL while playing for Spain against Georgia back in November 2023, which brought an early end to his season.
Gavi has been cheerfully laboring over his recovery and recently began some light training on the grass. But for the Spanish international, there is still a long way ahead.
For Flick, the return of Gavi is unequivocal
As has already been informed, Gavi is unlikely to turn out until at least mid-November, given Barcelona does not want to take any risk where his recuperation is concerned—owing to the complicated nature of the injury.
It means that new manager Hansi Flick will not be able to count on the winner of the 2022 Golden Boy for the initial three months of the new campaign.

However, according to AS, the German tactician reckons that Gavi will be like a new signing and the ‘most important addition’ to the squad for the next season when he finally comes back.
Flick knows that when he arrives, Gavi will bring aptitude, talent, energy, ambition, leadership and physical presence into the team – all of them vital for how the new manager wants to act.
He knows he won’t be able to count on the midfield prodigy for the first three months of the season.
Even if Gavi comes back mid-November, he might need another month to get into the groove and feel 100% physically and mentally. Not playing for almost a year means he will need some time to get back to his best version.
However, once he gets into the regularity of training, the German manager has no doubts that Gavi can turn into an important addition to his side.
