Labour parliamentary candidate Stella Creasy has firmly responded to vandals after her office window and door were smashed in a targeted attack. Creasy, who represents the Walthamstow constituency, took to social media to share images of the damage, which police have described as “entirely unacceptable.”
The Metropolitan Police reported that the incident occurred between 03:10 and 03:30 BST at Creasy’s office on Orford Road in north-east London. An urgent investigation is now underway to identify those responsible.
Stella Creasy, who has successfully secured the Walthamstow seat in the last four general elections, issued a strong statement calling for severe penalties for what she termed an “anti-democratic attack.” On X, she addressed the vandals directly: “You don’t intimidate me and you don’t belong in the political process. Same as those circulating malicious and false leaflets. Police already on this to find you – will press for the strongest penalties… and I know Walthamstow won’t be cowed or influenced by your violence either.”
Detective Superintendent Dion Brown confirmed that officers are pursuing “active lines of inquiry,” including reviewing CCTV footage from the area. He has appealed for any witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation.
The attack on Creasy’s office has sparked outrage within the Walthamstow community, with many residents expressing their support for the MP and condemning the act of vandalism. The local police have reiterated their commitment to finding those responsible and ensuring that justice is served.
