On Tuesday, the artist known for “Friends With Your Ex” released a TikTok refuting allegations that he organised a party to celebrate his 21st birthday, which occurred on October 9. “I want to take a moment to clarify and respond to the claims regarding my supposed themed birthday party,” stated the son of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and TV personality Shanna Moakler in the video.
Initially, I have not experienced a birthday celebration. The event celebrating my birthday is scheduled for next week.
Barker reported that he, along with his family and a friend, visited the renowned celebrity venue Nobu to commemorate his birthday, and subsequently, he and his companions received an invitation to a party. Barker indicated that the club promoter for the event assured him, “A table and a bottle ensure we are all set for the occasion.”
Barker explained why he chose not to exit the party right after noticing the baby oil-themed bottle service, which alluded to federal investigators’ raids on Combs’ properties, during which they confiscated over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant from the music mogul’s residences. He stated that he was initially unaware of the situation.
“The surroundings were dimly lit, and my focus was primarily on another table where illuminated bottles were being presented,” he stated. “The bottles were equipped with flashing lights beneath them, which hindered my ability to identify their contents.” It appears they are introducing tequila alongside the packaging. I currently lack clarity regarding the situation at this moment.
It was only upon the arrival of bottle service at his table that he became aware of the unfolding situation. Barker stated that he “didn’t pick up the bottle once” and “did not condone,” further explaining that he “merely went to a club to celebrate my birthday and found myself in an unfortunate situation.”
In the caption of his TikTok, he stated, “I extend my apologies to everyone I have affected; this was not my intention, and I never wished for this outcome.”
Barker expressed his dissatisfaction in a recent TikTok video regarding claims that he had asked his friends to don all-white attire for the event, which pertains to Combs’ well-known star-studded white parties.
“This represents the attire donned during my birthday,” Barker stated, presenting images of the outfits his friends selected for the celebration. “For the majority, formal attire typically consists of a white top paired with black trousers.” The experience resembled an upscale dining event. Individuals have removed their jackets.
In September, Combs faced significant legal challenges as he was arrested and charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.
On September 17, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York disclosed charges against Combs through an unsealed indictment, following his arrest the previous day. Despite a proposed bail amount of $50 million, Combs has been mandated to stay in custody at the Special Housing Unit within Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre in anticipation of his trial scheduled for May 5. This decision has been contested by his legal team in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
The criminal charges come almost a year following the allegations made by Combs’ former partner and “Me & U” artist Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who accused Combs of rape, sex trafficking, and physical abuse in November 2023. The lawsuit initiated several civil actions against him, featuring allegations of rape, sexual assault, and comparable claims outlined in the indictment revealed by investigators on September 17.
