Love Island’s Jack Fowler Reveals Near-Death Experience from Allergic Reaction on Emirates Flight

Love Island Star Jack Fowler Details Near-Death Allergic Reaction on Emirates Flight

Love Island star Jack Fowler has shared a harrowing experience of “complete negligence” during an Emirates flight to Dubai, claiming he faced a “real possibility of dying” after suffering a severe allergic reaction.

The Incident

Fowler revealed that despite informing the flight attendant of his severe nut allergy twice, he was served a chicken curry that caused his throat to close up “immediately” and made breathing “extremely difficult.” The reality TV star recounted the ordeal to his one million Instagram followers, emphasizing the seriousness of the incident.

Pre-Flight Communication

Fowler stated that he was not given a menu to choose from and was directly asked if he preferred chicken or fish. He opted for the chicken and explicitly informed the air-host of his severe nut allergy, asking if the meal contained any nuts. The flight attendant assured him that the chicken curry was nut-free.

The Reaction

Trusting the flight attendant’s assurance, Fowler began eating the chicken curry. However, his throat closed up instantly, and he experienced significant difficulty breathing. The allergic reaction was severe, and Fowler described the situation as life-threatening.

Fowler’s Statement

“I was asked directly if I wanted chicken or fish. I opted for the chicken. When I asked for the chicken, I told the air-host that I’m severely allergic to all nuts,” Fowler shared in his Instagram post. “I was then told that there were no nuts in the chicken curry. When I received the meal, I asked the same flight attendant again to make sure, and again was told that it does not have nuts included. Trusting my flight attendant, I began to eat the chicken curry. Immediately, my throat closed up, and breathing became extremely difficult.”

Conclusion

The incident has raised serious concerns about in-flight safety and the importance of proper communication regarding food allergies. Fowler’s experience highlights the potential dangers of allergen exposure and the critical need for airlines to ensure the safety of passengers with dietary restrictions.
