Tecno is going to release the Phantom V2 Fold this year, and the new details have just dropped. This is going to be the company’s second-generation book-style foldable. The first generation fared considerably well for its price, so it’ll be quite interesting to see what the second generation holds for us.
Some of the new details regarding the Tecno Phantom V2 Fold have just emerged into the spotlight on their own accord as follows:
Now, about its specifics. The device showed up at Bluetooth SIG. That listing confirmed that the device will support Bluetooth 5.3. It isn’t the latest one, but oh well, it suffices, I guess.
This probably is the latest piece of info about the device but far from the freshest. The Tecno Phantom V2 Fold showed up on Geekbench back in January, and the listing on the platform had as good as told more.
The second-gen variant will have the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor. It has 12GB of RAM confimred in at least one of its versions–poof that this is the only version with that amount of RAM. It runs Android 14 from the get-go.
This one will still be equipped with the same processor the unit used last year.
Feels like Tecno isn’t going to perturb the processor it fit in the first-gen model. The RAM count for the new phone will also stay the same. We won’t see any change in that regard either, as Tecno used LPDDR5X RAM the first time.
What about the rest of those specs, then? Well, at this point, we’re not sure. We’re expecting more detail to appear but they’re under wraps for the time being. Both displays will be of the OLED variety, though, and likely 120Hz panels as they were the first time around.
We are anticipating a lot of improvements, particularly in the camera department. First-gen was fine for the price, but no doubt Tecno will look to improve upon it. The design of the phone also remains mysterious.
