Olivia Munn, a prominent figure in the film industry, and John Mulaney, a recognised comedian, have welcomed a daughter via surrogacy.
The actress known for her role in X-Men announced the birth of her daughter, Mei, on September 14th, subsequently sharing images of her on her Instagram account following the announcement.
Munn, aged 44, indicated in a post that Mei June Mulaney was born on September 14, 2024, coinciding with the year of the dragon. Munn was the source of this information.
I experienced a significant array of emotions due to my inability to carry my baby to term. A communication occurred among mothers during my initial encounter with our gestational surrogate.
She consistently showed me warmth and empathy, which made me realize that I had met a truly remarkable person in my life.
“I am profoundly appreciative of her ability to ensure the safety of our baby for the duration of nine months, ultimately facilitating the realisation of our aspirations.”
She expressed a strong sense of pride in her little dragon, her little plum, for successfully completing the journey to join them. “I am highly pleased with her performance.” “I hold a strong sense of pride in their accomplishments.” My chest has tightened to the point of rupture. “Mei, pronounced as ‘may’, refers to the plum in Chinese.”
Mulaney, aged 42, is a comedian and actor known for his writing on Saturday Night Live. He shared on social media, “I love my little girl so much,” while humorously remarking on the items taken from the hospital. Mulaney serves as a writer for Saturday Night Live.
The couple currently has a child, Malcolm, who is nearing three years of age. Every one of their offspring qualifies as a child.
Munn disclosed in March that she had completed four surgical interventions, including a double mastectomy, as part of her treatment regimen for a highly aggressive variant of breast cancer. The procedure was one of the surgical interventions that she had experienced.
She asserts that her early-stage diagnosis of the illness was a critical factor in preserving her life.
Additionally, Munn disclosed on Instagram a few weeks prior that she had undergone an oophorectomy and a partial hysterectomy, both surgical procedures involving the removal of one or both ovaries.
In August, following a month’s interval, she initiated treatment with the medication Arimidex for breast cancer.
Additionally, Munn disclosed to Vogue earlier this year that she had opted to freeze her eggs right after her diagnosis to enable the couple the opportunity to conceive another child. This action was undertaken to provide the couple with the potential to conceive a child.
Munn gained recognition through his appearances on television programs like The Daily Show and The Newsroom, as well as his prominent role in the film X-Men: Apocalypse.
