Heartbreaking news has surfaced about the untimely death of Ugandan Olympic athlete Rebecca Cheptegei. There are rumours circulating about her sustaining serious burns due to a disagreement with her partner regarding land.
There was quite a scandalous event that took place in Kenya involving a 33-year-old marathon runner who had to be urgently taken to the hospital. There’s been some talk about a disturbing incident involving her and her boyfriend on Sunday.
There has been some unfortunate news from the Ugandan Athletics Federation. There’s some news going around about one of their athletes, Rebecca Cheptegei. It’s really sad, but apparently she passed away this morning because of a terrible incident involving domestic violence.

Donald Rukare, the head of Uganda’s Olympic Committee, offered his sympathies for the tragedy and firmly condemned any form of violence against women.
“This was a devastating and heartbreaking event that has led to the sudden loss of an incredible athlete. Her influence will be remembered for years to come.
According to Dr. Owen Menach, the acting director of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, the patient unfortunately passed away on Wednesday night due to multiple organ failure.
According to Trans Nzoia County Police Commander Jeremiah ole Kosiom, on Monday, Cheptegei’s boyfriend, Dickson Ndiema, allegedly ignited a dispute by pouring petrol on her and setting her on fire.
Ndiema also suffered burn injuries and was admitted to the same hospital, according to the police.
Cheptegei’s parents informed The Star that their 33-year-old daughter purchased land in Trans Nzoia to reside close to the numerous athletic training centres in the country.
According to the report from the local chief, the couple was engaged in a heated argument regarding the property on which the house was constructed, just prior to the commencement of the fire.
Ms Cheptegei recently participated in the marathon event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, securing the 44th position.
As per the Paris Olympics website, she earned her spot in the marathon event for her Olympic debut by achieving a personal best time of 2.22.47 at the Abu Dhabi Marathon in December 2022.
Additionally, she achieved a commendable 14th place in the marathon event during the 2023 World Championships.
