Tyreek Hill was taken into custody for a traffic incident that occurred directly one block away from the stadium where the Miami Dolphins play their opening game of the season.

The purported roadside detention of the Dolphins wide receiver, which took place during the morning of Sunday, September 8, and was observed by many passerby, is captured on video. The wide receiver is seen lying face down on the ground while being handcuffed beside his vehicle, and four law enforcement officers are around him.

Shortly after the event, the Dolphins issued a statement on social media, in which they disclosed that Hill’s encounter with the law enforcement officials took place close to Rock Stadium. Hill and the Dolphins are due to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at one o’clock in the afternoon, local time.

“This morning, Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident approximately one block away from the stadium and briefly detained by police,” the Dolphins claimed in the statement, which was released on X (which was formerly known as Twitter).

As stated in the statement, the National Football League star “has since been released.” Additionally, the statement disclosed that several Dolphins players were present during Hill’s detention.

The statement stated that a number of teammates witnessed the occurrence and came to provide their support upon seeing it. I am pleased to report that Tyreek and all of the other players involved have arrived at the stadium without incident and will be available for today’s game.
