Remembering Her 'Ugly Bangle' and Other Items from Her First Emmys Gets Kourtney Kardashian Cringes!

Among Kourtney Kardashian’s fashion faux pas is her attire during the 2009 Emmys.

The July 4th edition of “The Kardashians” had Kourtney getting all dolled up for the 2024 awards event and reminiscing about the one and only time she went, in 2009, with Kim.

“I went to the Emmys 15 years ago, and the look was very different,” according to her. “I just wore this random gray — I don’t even know the designer; I don’t even know where I got it or how I even got dressed.”

She hid her increasing baby bump under a loose, strapless gown of dark gray. She was expecting her son, Mason, at the time.

During the show, she contacted Kim by phone to see if she could recall more details about the occasion and to bring to Kim’s attention the fact that her dress had an “ugly bangle” on it. Kim remembered that they got ready “down the street” in Kourtney’s Calabasas condo, but she also didn’t remember much else.

After welcoming her son Rocky with Travis Barker at the end of 2023, the mother of four had a very different vision for the 2024 ceremony. She matched her suit with Barker’s, and she went to the event to hear him play drums to kick off the concert.

“This is the first big public thing that I’m doing, and it’s our first real date night out after having a baby,” she explains during the show. If it weren’t for Travis singing, I don’t think I’d ever step foot on a red carpet, so I’m here to show my support. Life as a parent to a newborn. Besides Target, I haven’t really ventured anywhere.

Kourtney goes on to remark in a confessional that she considers herself “lucky” to have the opportunity to ease back into real life after giving birth, as she recognizes that not everyone has this luxury.

Doing anything like this so soon is strange, but I remind myself that it’s only going to take an hour. Take it all in; live in the now. I love to see my husband perform. Enjoy yourself; I’m going back to my secluded world.
