A man has been accused of attempting to kill Donald Trump after it was stated that he followed the former president around his golf club in Florida for approximately twelve hours in a row.
Ryan Routh was hauled into jail on September 15 after it was discovered that he had a rifle poking through the bushes at the West Palm Beach competition course. The discovery led to Routh’s arrest.
The culprit attempted to flee, but he was eventually caught less than an hour after his escape. A Secret Service agent who was a hole ahead of Mr. Trump was the one who fired the shot that killed the suspect.
The accusation against Routh, who is 58 years old, initially charged him with two violations of gun laws; however, the prosecution has since added additional charges to the aforementioned indictment.
According to them, Routh left a note that detailed his intention to kill Mr. Trump. The note was written many months before Routh was detained and was left behind by Routh.
As stated by the Department of Justice of the United States of America, it was brought to the residence of a person who informed the authorities immediately after he was taken into custody.
In a statement, the prosecution said, “This was an attempt to kill Donald Trump, but I succeeded in failing you.” This is the statement that was made. I went to great lengths to ensure that I was successful, and I summoned up as much tenacity as I could manage.
An offer of one hundred fifty thousand dollars, which is equivalent to eleven hundred thousand pounds, was allegedly made in the note that was titled “Dear World” and offered to anyone who could “finish the job.”
On top of that, the prosecution asserts that they found a handwritten list of dates and locations where it was believed that Mr. Trump would be present on him.
There have been reports that Routh spent a month in southern Florida, and the data from his mobile phone indicates that he was in close vicinity to both the golf course and Mr. Trump’s property during that time.
A Google search that was made to identify how to drive from Palm Beach to Mexico was displayed on one of the six phones that were found in his vehicle, according to the authorities. The other six phones were also found in his vehicle.
When the incident that took place on the golf course took place, it was around two months after Mr. Trump had survived an attempt on his life while he was playing on stage in Pennsylvania.
Assaulting a federal officer, possessing a handgun in furtherance of a crime of violence, and the two gun counts that were initially made against Routh the prior week are the extra claims that he is facing. Routh is currently facing all of these charges.
At the moment, he has not yet submitted a plea to the court.
The prosecution is aware of another book that the suspect wrote. Routh is reported to have gone to Ukraine in an effort to assist in the fight against Russia, and in this book, the suspect criticises the approach that Mr. Trump takes to global affairs, particularly his actions in Ukraine. Routh is claimed to have flown there in an effort to assist in the fight against Russia.
Furthermore, he stated in the book that Iran was “free to assassinate Trump” because they had violated their nuclear pact at the time. This was a further statement that he made.
