Sabrina Carpenter Dominates UK Singles Chart with Two Hits

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” Tops UK Singles Chart, Followed by “Espresso”

Sabrina Carpenter has achieved an impressive milestone, securing both the number one and two spots on the UK singles chart. Her latest single, “Please Please Please,” has overtaken the previous chart-topper “Espresso,” which held the number one position for five weeks. Both singles are from Carpenter’s upcoming sixth album, Short ‘n Sweet.

The music video for “Please Please Please” features Carpenter, a former Disney actress, and her real-life boyfriend, Barry Keoghan, star of Saltburn, as they embark on Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired adventures. Earlier this week, Carpenter graced Radio 1’s Live Lounge, performing both singles along with a cover of “Good Luck, Babe” by fellow US pop star Chappell Roan.

Short ‘n Sweet is set for release in August, and Carpenter has announced a series of US tour dates. Despite her previous five albums, it is the summer anthem “Espresso” that has significantly boosted her fame.

The top five singles this week are rounded out by Eminem’s “Houdini” at number three, Billie Eilish’s “Birds Of A Feather” at four, and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” at five.

Taylor Swift Continues Reign on Albums Chart

On the albums chart, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department remains at number one for a seventh consecutive week, marking a UK record for the singer. Swift is set to perform the first three of her eight shows at London’s Wembley Stadium this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft holds the number two spot, followed by Charli XCX’s Brat at three. The Weeknd’s greatest hits album The Highlights and Sea Girls’ third album Midnight Butterflies debut at number four and five, respectively.
