That would be a night of glitz and glamour, as ZTE, a leading global giant in telecommunications, joins hands with TD Africa, the continent’s leading tech distribution firm, to launch the ground-breaking ZTE Nubia series.
The launch, holding at Providence Hotel Ikeja GRA, would also double as the official usage announcement of the strategic partnership between the two companies targeted at changing the face of the Nigerian smartphone market.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Taofeek Akinlolu said, “Speaking on the persistence of ZTE towards innovative solutions in a bid to ensure that they continue the development of top-notch mobile technology that empowers, is informed about why they feel incredibly proud to team up with them in bringing these remarkable devices to the African market.”.
Citing the recently released data from International Data Corporation, IDC, which puts smartphone shipment as having for the first time surpassed feature shipment in Q1 2024, he added that this shows how dynamic the African market has become.
“This report, therefore, shows that Africa represents a dynamic and fast-growing market beaming with potential, ably supported by its young tech-savvy population and increasing internet penetration rate,” he said.

He also said that Nubia would rewrite how mobile works for African users when speaking at the launch of the new cutting-edge mobile range from ZTE.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of ZTE Nigeria, Mr. Kerwin Ding, speaking on this partnership, their choice of TD Africa as the strategic partner was informed by their extensive network in the distribution of telecommunications equipment.
