Recently, Telegram has introduced a new feature allowing creators to sell content directly on the platform. With this update, users will be able to buy their favorite content creators with the company’s digital currency known as “Stars,” used to purchase in-bot and mini-app goods digitally.

The enhancement will allow users to access exclusive content on channels with Stars, hence simplifying creator monetization and user access to quality content without having to leave the app.

Telegram further allows channel owners to convert Stars into Toncoin—a cryptocurrency operating on The Open Network blockchain. After that, creators have a means of transforming Stars into real value by exchanging Toncoin on multiple exchanges or conveniently transferring them to bank accounts.

creators benefit from Stars in other ways as well. In addition to unlocking content, Stars can be used to receive discounts on ads, which helps channels promote themselves more effectively.

In all, the recent updates on Telegram extend much more than this. They have introduced a very convenient Mini App bar, which will make access to mini-apps easier; there won’t be any constant reloading. Other than this, some new story-discovery features are added via hashtags and location tags, increasing the usability and engagement of the applications.
