Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name Tems, is a Nigerian singer who has won a Grammy. She recently disclosed that Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Drake all initiated contact with her within a span of three days in the year 2020.

During a recent interview with BigBoy TV, the singer, who is now 29 years old, discussed her rise to fame throughout the course of her career.

Tems stated that Beyoncé’s team had reached out to her and that Drake and Rihanna had also sent direct messages later on.

The recipient of the Grammy Award referred to the event as “surreal,” saying that it was as if “I was dreaming.”

I had only three songs under my belt when I first met Wizkid. “We recorded ‘Essence’ in 2019, and it was released in 2020. And I released my EP while the pandemic was going on,” she continued.

When I was younger, I never imagined that I would become such a huge deal. As soon as we started playing “Essence,” everything started to go off. My inbox began to fill with messages. It just blew my mind that Beyoncé would contact me in 2020. It was like, “God, what the hell is going on?”

Due to the fact that I lived by myself during the entirety of my time spent in school and working, I was able to spend a lot of time alone and spend a lot of time thinking about things.

A member of Beyonce’s crew reached out to me, and I received direct messages from individuals that I admired. Other artists, such as Drake and Rihanna, among others. People who have had a significant impact on culture over the course of the past ten years or more are included below. In the business world, these are individuals who are held in relatively high esteem.

“When I received their messages, I was in Nigeria,” she said. I was alone myself in my home when I was able to get everything. It is true that I received their texts within a span of three days of each other.

“I had the impression that something incredibly bizarre was taking place, as if it were not real and I was dreaming.” It seemed as if someone was playing a joke on me.

Tems rose to prominence in 2020 as a result of her appearance on the song “Essence,” which she sang in conjunction with Wizkid, an Afrobeats musician.

Over the course of the same year, she issued her first extended play (EP), which was named “For Broken Ears.”

In the year 2022, Rihanna worked with Tems, who was a contributor to the composition of the song “Lift Me Up,” which was a heavenly ballad that was included in the soundtrack for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

Tems has amassed a number of accolades and shattered a number of achievements.

For her performance in the popular song “Wait for U,” which Future and Drake performed in 2022, the singer received her first Grammy award this past year.

Born in the Wild is the title of Tems’ debut album, which was released on June 7 and was already slated to be published on June 7.

The Afrobeats superstar Asake and the American rapper J. Cole are both featured on Tems’ album, which consists of 18 tracks.

The songs that are included on the album are titled “Born in the Wild,” “Special Baby,” “Burning,” “Wickedest,” “Love Me Jeje,” “Get It Right,” “Ready,” and “Gangsta.”

A number of other tracks are included on the album, including “Hold On,” “Unfortunate,” “Boy o Boy,” “Forever,” “Free Fall,” “Voices in My Head,” “Turn Me Up,” “Me & U,” “T-Unit,” and “You In My Face.”

Before the release of the album, Tems had already released two tracks from the album: “Me & U” and “Love Me Jeje.”

In 2018, the singer released her debut track, which she had produced herself and titled “Mr. Rebel.” She then followed it up with “Try Me,” which became her smash song in 2019.

Recently, her song “Love Me Jeje” was included in the summer playlist of Barack Obama, who served as the former president of the United States.
