Ayo Edebiri’s Directorial Debut: Behind the Scenes of The Bear
Ayo Edebiri, known for her acting and comedy prowess, has proven her directorial skills on the set of The Bear. The star of the show shares her journey with the BBC, reflecting on her experience directing episode six of the new season.
“I had a total blast and I learnt so much from it,” says Edebiri, who portrays sous chef Sydney on the series. “I love our cast, but being able to collaborate with them from a different vantage point gave me so much more appreciation for them and for the sheer amount of effort it takes to make television.”
Describing television production as “such a powerful and beautiful machine,” the 28-year-old actress expresses her admiration for the collaborative process behind the scenes.
Edebiri, who recently featured in Inside Out 2, adds to her accolades a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild award, and an Emmy for her performance in the comedy-drama.
