Tinubu Inherited a Near-Bankrupt Nation, Deserves Patience – Tafawa-Balewa Urges Nigerians

Dr. Abdul-Jhalil Tafawa-Balewa, a past presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has spoken out in support of President Bola Tinubu. He wants Nigerians to be patient as the president deals with the country’s economic problems. According to Tafawa-Balewa, Tinubu took over a country that was about to go bankrupt and is working hard to fix things. He made it clear that the president is not to blame for the terrible state of the economy, but that it is now his job to fix it.

In a recent talk, Tafawa-Balewa stressed how important it was to understand how bad the situation was that Tinubu took over as president. He said that the new government took over a country that was in debt, had a weak currency, and had businesses that were having trouble. He said that these things make it hard for any leader to turn things around right away. He did say, though, that Tinubu has already tried to deal with the important problems, though the effects will not show up for a while.

Tafawa-Balewa also told Tinubu that lowering the cost of government was a very important thing that needed to be done to get more money for national development. He said that a big government that spends too much on areas that don’t make things only makes the country’s financial problems worse. Tafawa-Balewa thinks that more money can be put into important areas like healthcare, education, and building up infrastructure by reducing wasteful spending and streamlining government processes.

Tafawa-Balewa acknowledged that many Nigerians are angry about the current state of the economy, but he asked them to be patient and understanding, emphasising that the problems the country is facing will not be solved quickly. He also said that some of Nigeria’s problems, like inflation and unemployment, are caused by long-term problems that wasn’t properly dealt with by earlier governments.

The former PDP candidate also talked about how the economy needs to be restructured. He told Tinubu that he needed to make laws that would help industries grow, create jobs, and support the local manufacturing sector. He thinks that Nigeria can improve its economy and ease the strain on its foreign funds by boosting domestic production and lowering its reliance on imports. Tafawa-Balewa said Tinubu is known for being a practical leader and was hopeful that his government would take bold steps in the right way.

Finally, Tafawa-Balewa asked Nigerians again to give President Tinubu the time and help he needs to make the changes that are needed. He said that getting back on track would be hard, but that the country could get out of its current economic problems with steady work. In addition, Tafawa-Balewa said that while it is important to hold politicians responsible, it is also important to understand how hard it is to run a country like Nigeria, especially after bad economic management.
