An individual has been taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by hazardous driving in relation to a collision that resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including two children.

At around four o’clock on Sunday afternoon, a collision occurred on the A61 between Wakefield and Barnsley, involving a motorbike that was being ridden by a husband and woman, and a Ford Focus that was transporting a family along with it.

The police have issued a request to anybody who may have witnessed a Porsche 911 in the vicinity of the crash and was wearing a grey color to come forward with their information.

The accident resulted in the deaths of Shane Roller, who was 33 years old, his spouse Shannen Morgan, who was 30 years old, and their kids Rubie and Lillie Morgan-Roller, who were nine and four years old, respectively.

On Wednesday afternoon, a GoFundMe campaign that was established for their surviving daughter, who is believed to have not been there with them at the time of the incident, had raised more than three hundred and forty thousand pounds.

Paul Hepple, a family friend, wrote on this page that the young girl, who was 11 years old, had “lost her whole world in an instant” and that he had been taking care of her ever since the tragedy.

However, Mr. Hepple stated that she will be remaining with her aunt, who he described as “amazing, loving, and capable.” The aunt will be provided with the funds necessary to assist and sustain her.

He expressed his gratitude: “The love and support we have received from all of you have been truly overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful.”

The people who worked at a primary school in Barnsley paid homage to the youngsters who had passed away, stating that they were “a delight to teach.”

On the BMW S1000 XR motorcycle that they were riding, Christopher Barton, who was 56 years old, and Janine Barton, who was 48 years old, both perished in the accident.

Superintendent Alan Travis of the Wakefield District Police Department referred to the collision as a “completely tragic incident that resulted in the loss of six lives.”

Detective Sergeant Steven Suggitt said, “I would also urge anyone who has dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage of this car, that may assist our investigation, to please contact us.” We are looking for anyone who may have this information.

Following the collision, it is believed that the Ford Focus that the Morgan-Roller family was traveling in caught fire and started a fire.

While the police were conducting their investigation, a portion of the road that was located outside of the Barnsley Golf Club was shut down for a number of days.
