Tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming London shows are being sold at a significant discount compared to their US counterparts. This comes shortly after her Vienna run was cancelled due to a foiled terror plot.

According to A  News Channel, there has been a significant drop in prices for Eras Tour tickets in the US. Previously, the cheapest tickets were priced at around $3,000 each. However, fans can now purchase tickets for her upcoming Wembley shows for as low as $627 (£487) for upper-level seating.

There are numerous tickets available on the resell platform Viagogo for the usually sold-out shows, priced at approximately £500.

Shortly after the cancellation of Taylor Swift’s shows last week, some of her devoted fans, known as Swifties, expressed their concerns on social media about the upcoming shows.

Someone on Twitter expressed frustration about having to cancel their trip to London to see Taylor Swift due to the behaviour of others. They mentioned feeling anxious about visiting London and going to the stadium.

Another person expressed their feelings of guilt and anxiety instead of the excitement they initially had for Wembley being their only show, due to what happened in Vienna.

“Eras, London was meant to be the most incredible time of my life,” chimed in a third person. Now it’s completely ruined because I’m absolutely terrified and too shaken up to even think about ordering my outfit or making friendship bracelets.

Last Tuesday, the three Vienna shows were cancelled due to the arrest of two teenagers, aged 19 and 17. Another arrest of an 18-year-old was made the following Wednesday.

Based on reports, it was discovered that the suspects had intentions of causing harm to a large number of individuals at the shows. The events were projected to have an estimated attendance of 65,000 people inside the venue, with an additional 30,000 people outside.

Given the reputation of Swift’s concerts for attracting large crowds of ticketless fans outside the venue, there were concerns that the planned attack could potentially impact her upcoming London shows.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed his confidence in hosting the Eras Tour for the second time this summer, from August 15 to 20.

According to security official Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the main suspect in the foiled plot, who is 19 years old, has been described as being strongly influenced by the Islamic State (IS) and holds the belief that it is justified to harm non-believers.

According to reports, he had expressed loyalty to the current leader of the Islamic State and had intentions of carrying out a suicide attack, which was fortunately prevented.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer emphasized that the cancellation of the Vienna concerts was a necessary measure, which has justified it.

“I fully empathise with those who were looking forward to attending the concert in person and share in their disappointment,” Nehammer expressed during a press conference.

Parents are taking care of their children, who were excited and eager for this concert. However, in times as critical as these, prioritising safety is absolutely crucial.

Wembley Stadium has issued a cautionary notice to fans who plan to watch the show from outside the venue this week, similar to what happened during the singer’s previous London Eras Tour dates in June.

The stadium has made it clear that standing outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium is strictly prohibited. This rule is in place to ensure the safe entry and exit of all individuals within the stadium. The stadium has emphasised this policy in an online statement.

Those without tickets will be asked to leave.

The Metropolitan Police stated that there is no perceived threat to the upcoming London shows. However, security measures are being strengthened in response to the recent foiled attacks.
