The person at the center of the allegations against Huw Edwards has stated that he felt “groomed” by the newsreader.

The man, who claims that he was paid for explicit images when he was a teenager, told the Daily Mirror that he felt “sick” after learning that the BBC presenter now faces the possibility of a prison sentence after confessing this week that he accessed indecent photographs of children as young as seven years old.

Edwards was recognized as the senior broadcaster who was at the center of allegations that a young person was paid for sexually explicit photos by his wife, Vicky Flind, approximately a year prior to the admission. Vicky Flind was the one who made the identification. “On the basis of medical advice from his doctors,” Edwards announced his resignation from his position at the BBC.

The individual stated that he had chosen to remain silent in order to safeguard the 62-year-old broadcaster, whom he had initially met after reaching out to him and other celebrities for assistance after becoming homeless.

A young guy who acknowledged sending sexual texts and videos to Edwards, who allegedly sent £35,000 in return over the course of two years, stated, “I feel like he sort of fed on my vulnerability.” Edwards allegedly sent the money back to the young man.

I was aware that I needed the money. He stated, “I had the impression that I was being groomed.” I had the impression that he was taking advantage of me, but I felt compelled to pay attention to what he had to say because he was Huw Edwards.

The young man claimed that nothing wrong or illegal had occurred after the Sun first reported the allegations in July of last year, and the police came to the conclusion that there was no criminal case.

After the allegations were made public, the BBC initiated an internal inquiry with the purpose of “fact-finding” in response to the allegations that Edwards had caused certain younger employees of the BBC to feel uneasy regarding messaging apps.

Edwards acknowledged having 41 lewd photos of children that a different man had sent to him via WhatsApp at the Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday. The other guy had sent these images to Edwards.

It is now being demanded that the disgraced presenter refund the income that he received from the BBC after he was detained.

The BBC reported on Friday that Edwards had resigned “without notice or financial settlement” as a “confidential disciplinary process” was taking place around the same time.

During the time period between Edwards’ arrest in November of last year and his departure in April, the cultural secretary, Lisa Nandy, stated that it was inappropriate for Edwards to collect his income, which was almost two hundred thousand pounds.

At the same time that the BBC announced 500 layoffs, it was disclosed that Edwards had continued to be the third-highest-paid presenter at the broadcaster in the previous year. He had received a pay increase of forty thousand pounds.

Following the guilty pleas entered by Edwards, the BBC issued a statement in which it stated that it had been made aware of the alleged offenses and that it was “shocked to hear the details” that developed throughout the court proceedings.

On September 16th, Edwards is scheduled to make his next court appearance.
