US Politics: The Trump team loudly considers the debate a triumph, but staffers discreetly express doubts.

The campaign of Donald Trump publicly declared victory in the debate versus Kamala Harris that took place on Tuesday night, according to individuals who are familiar with the situation and information regarding the scenario. On the other hand, at least a few of his top aides privately admitted that it was extremely unlikely that he would be able to persuade those who were on the fence about voting for him to change their minds and cast their ballots for him.

One of Trump’s advisors said, “No, it won’t happen.”

With 55 days remaining until the election, Trump is still looking for a time that may allow his attack lines against Harris to break through and overwrite her improvements in important battleground state surveys. This comment epitomised the difficulty that the Trump campaign finds itself in, which is that Trump is still hunting for a moment that may allow himself to do so.

And it was an acknowledgement that despite their aspirations of getting Happy Trump on stage, they got Angry Trump instead. It seemed as though Angry Trump could not shake his anger at being ridiculed about his followers leaving his rallies early and being continuously fact-checked by the moderators.

Over the course of several weeks, the Trump team had regarded the debate as a prime opportunity to communicate with a national, primetime television audience consisting of millions of people. They believed that his assaults on Harris on policy had not been conveyed in mainstream press coverage.

According to the line of thinking, even if the television networks chose not to broadcast Trump’s rallies or remarks made at campaign stops, they would still be compelled to broadcast him live and uninterrupted whenever he got the opportunity to speak during the debate.

However, Harris baited Trump less than 10 minutes into the debate, and even on his favorite subjects, like illegal immigration, Trump missed numerous opportunities to make attacks before arguing with the moderators about whether Haitian immigrants were eating pets in Ohio.

The initial strategy to manipulate the alleged targeting of pets by immigrants was to argue that it was hearsay and then to transition to criticising Harris on the implications of illegal immigration on crime. This was the goal even if the moderators denied the authenticity of the alleged targeting.

A number of individuals who were informed on the preparation work stated that the problem was that Trump had difficulty carrying out the strategy. The remark that Harris made about his rallies caused him to become stuck, and then he became embroiled in a back and forth debate on whether or not the story was truly true.

The concluding speech that Trump made, which was a planned set of words, was the one thing that some Trump advisers pointed out as being particularly noteworthy. In this statement, Trump questioned why Harris had not already implemented her promised programs as part of the agenda of the Biden administration.

Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, who are both in charge of the Trump campaign, issued a statement in which they both publicly echoed their boss and declared victory. They wrote that “the choice could not be more clear—President Trump was the clear winner tonight, and he will win for America when he returns to the White House.” This statement was made about the election results.

In addition, Trump’s advisors were unanimously scathing of the moderators of the debate, David Muir and Linsey Davis of ABC News, as well as their frequent fact-checks of Trump’s more extreme comments. They suggested that the discussion appeared to be a pile-on with three against one.

Their private evaluation of the debate, on the other hand, was not the victory statement that Trump made on Fox News while he was visiting the spin room. He then used this proclamation to support his decision to delay a decision regarding whether or not he would hold a second debate versus Harris with 55 days left until the election.

stated thisI’m not sure; I need to give it some thought, but if you managed to win the argument, I’m beginning to think that perhaps I shouldn’t go through with it. Why should I bring up this topic once more? Trump stated this in response to the questioning from Sean Hannity, the anchor of Fox News.
