Tim Walz and his wife Gwen do not appear to have sustained any injuries; nevertheless, it has been claimed that one individual has broken their arm.
A motorcade that was transporting Tim Walz, the Democratic contender for vice president, and his wife was involved in a collision with many automobiles, which resulted in the injury of one individual.
A member of the team representing the Democratic nominee for vice president “suffered a broken arm” as a result of the collision that took place between campaign cars and press vehicles.
On Monday, Mr. Walz was on his way to one of the presidential campaign events that was being held in Wisconsin. Neither he nor his wife sustained any injuries as a result of the incident.
Massive buses with crumpled front and rear ends were depicted in photographs that were shared on social media.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the incident, which took place just before one o’clock local time, which is seven o’clock in the United Kingdom. It was not immediately obvious what caused the crash.
While Mr. Walz was out on his election campaign trail, the vehicles were used to transport reporters who were travelling with him.
A member of the staff who was riding in the same minibus as the reporters received medical attention for what was believed to be a fractured arm.
A number of passengers reported that they were “violently thrown forward” as the vehicle collided with another vehicle in front of them and was also struck from behind.
There were a few reporters who sustained minor injuries, which were described as “scrapes and bruises,” and there was considered to be one individual who had a concussion.
Paramedics evaluated the patients before transferring them to a different minibus to travel to the event.
Due to the fact that Mr. Walz and his wife Gwen were riding closer to the front of the motorcade, they were not involved in the collision that took place near the back of the procession.
Joe Biden, the Vice President, contacted Mr. Walz from Air Force One and spoke to him later. This occurred while the President was flying to a separate event in Pittsburgh with Kamala Harris, the Vice President.
Ms. Harris, the Democratic candidate for president, was campaigning in Detroit at the beginning of the day before she and Mr. Biden went to the joint event later in the day. According to her staff, she also had a phone conversation with her running mate.
Following the crash that occurred at the demonstration in Milwaukee, Mr. Walz made a brief statement about the incident, stating that “some of my staff and members of the press” were involved.
“We have had conversations with the workers. It gives me great relief to report that, with the exception of a few minor injuries, everyone is going to be fine,” Mr. Walz added.
In addition, he communicated his gratitude to the secret service and the emergency crews for their prompt response.
