The area’s mayor, Rory Hoskins, expressed his sincere condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones during the tragic Labour Day weekend loss of four lives.

There is a significant possibility that our fire department and police department respond to this area more frequently than they do to any other location within our jurisdiction. This is because this location is the centre of our jurisdiction.

When seen from the point of view of Sean McNulty, who is a frequent traveller along the route, it is not unusual for criminal activity to occur on trains in that region.

“You just kind of get used to it,” he mentioned in an interview with the Chicago Tribune regarding the circumstance. “I keep my eyes open because I want to know what’s going on around me at all times.”

The Chicago Transit Authority referred to the incident that resulted in the deaths as a “heinous and egregious act of violence” when it took place.
