NHL player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew died in a bicycle accident in New Jersey.

Tragically, a biking accident in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, claimed the lives of an NHL star, 31, and Matthew, 29, who were both from Salem County. According to a wedding website, it seems like they were back in their hometown to fulfil the role of groomsmen in their sister’s wedding on Friday.

Johnny and Matthew were biking on Country Route 551 North just after 8 p.m. when a driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, tried to overtake another car and tragically struck the brothers, E. According to the police, the driver, Sean M. Higgins, has been charged with two counts of death by auto and has been arrested. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Blue Jackets made an announcement on Friday, Aug. 30, regarding the unfortunate deaths.
