Do No Wrong, a song by US artist Sam Pounds using Liam Payne’s voice, was scheduled to be published on Friday, two weeks after the 31-year-old died in Argentina.

Liam Payne’s new music will no longer be released this Friday since the plan was reversed.

Sam Pounds, a US singer and songwriter who collaborated with the One Direction star on Do No Wrong, had previously stated on social media that the single will be released on November 1.

He had stated that he hoped the song “eclipses the negative echoes” of Payne’s death and serves as a “blessing” to Payne’s family.

However, the release of the single, which contains Payne’s vocals, has been postponed because “it’s not the time yet,” the North Carolina singer stated.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Pounds wrote: “Today I’m opting to hold Do No Wrong and leave those freedoms up to all family members.

“I want all revenues to go to the charity of their choice (or anything they wish).

“Even though we all adore the song, this is not the moment. We are all still mourning Liam’s death, and I wish the family peace and prayer.

“We will all wait.”

Payne, 31, died earlier this month after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Although definitive toxicology findings are not yet available, preliminary reports indicate possible cocaine exposure, according to an AP source.

Payne has previously spoken openly about his battles with alcohol and addiction after his rapid ascent to popularity as a youth.

Geoff, Payne’s father, travelled to Argentina last week to identify his son and will send his remains back to the UK once Argentine authorities have released them.

Do No Wrong was scheduled to be released in three different formats, including a live mix and an a cappella.

On October 26, Pounds posted the track’s black and white artwork, which depicted a winged angel climbing higher towards a broken heart.

Following Payne’s death, Pounds posted a brief video of them recording in the studio together, captioned “I can’t believe you are gone.”

Pounds announced the planned release in an Instagram post, writing: “I pray that this will be a blessing to the world, as Liam has always dreamed.”

“I pray that angels will comfort you all every day as they listen. I hope this song is a gift to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family.

“I hope that this music overshadows the unpleasant echoes. I wish that divine positive healing force embraces each and every one of you.”

He signed off his message, “With love.” Let us all be the blessing.

Teardrops, Payne’s most recent song, was released in March in anticipation of a second album, which has been teased.

However, it was widely believed that Payne’s record company and agency had fired him as a result of weak sales.

He had spent the summer filming a new Netflix project called Building the Band, where he served as a mentor to a pop group created for the unscripted reality programme. The programme is presently thought to be on hold.
